My client is seeking Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager to join a team of engineers and geologists doing design and construction management of heavy civil underground projects and risk management of all major infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years working on major underground, tunnel, and trenchless projects, including both design and construction roles.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Planning, performing, supporting, and managing geotechnical, hydrogeological, and geophysical field investigations to support tunnel and underground structure design.
- Produce engineering calculations in support of tunnel and underground structure design including support of excavation, dewatering, and construction impact assessments.
- Develop design parameters from geotechnical reports.
- Independently prepare Technical Memoranda, Letters, and Reports.
- Preparation of construction plans and specifications, and calculation/design reports, cost estimates and schedules.
- Communicate technical and non-technical information in a concise, professional manner, including facilitation of technical meetings and workshops with Owners, Contractors and other stakeholders.
- Participate in generating proposal leads and develop proposals, discussion of teaming and leveraging existing and new client relationships to secure new business, develop proposal.
Qualifications
- 10 years geotechnical experience working on major underground and tunnel projects in design and construction roles.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in geotechnical or related engineering field. Masters degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) License required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required.
- Be available to travel (10-15%).
- Working directly with construction contractors and experience with alternative delivery methods.
- Experience with support of excavation design and soil-structure interaction modeling.
- North American experience a must. International experience a plus.
